Sajeed “Titu” Asghar

Executive Chairman

Sajeed “Titu” Asghar serves as Executive Chairman of Tribal Capital Markets, LLC (“TCM”). His daily oversight, guidance and counsel have been critical in the firm’s business expansion. Mr. Asghar has introduced many of the same thoughts and processes that have served him as the current Chief Executive Officer of The Morongo Band of Mission Indians. His previous experience includes roles as Director/Manager of multiple tribal economic efforts as the driver of asset valuation and due diligence initiatives. Prior to his work in Tribal communities, Titu began his career in the financial services sector as a securities analyst for Capital Solutions & Co. where he provided M&A due diligence and managed the firm’s operations.

 

 

 

James Siva

Board Member

James Siva is one of the senior members of the Morongo Tribal Council where he oversees economic development for the 35,000 acre Morongo Indian Reservation.  Mr. Siva is a second-generation Council Member who focuses on the Tribe’s self-reliance and pursuit of economic opportunities to continue developing economic growth for future Morongo generations.  Mr. Siva served as the point person for the Tribe in forming Tribal Capital Markets and was instrumental in forging the strong relationship the Council now has with the Managing Members of TCM.  Mr. Siva graduated Cum Laude from Columbia University and was the inaugural recipient of Columbia's Native Alumni Seven Generation Award for Outstanding Community Service.

 

 

Brian Lugo

Board Member

Brian Lugo is also one of the longest tenured members of the Morongo Tribal Council.  Mr. Lugo oversees the Tribe’s diverse business portfolio which generates close to $3 billion in annual revenue and provides 3,000 jobs, with a particular focus on projects related to energy, education, the environment and transportation. Brian brings this experience to Tribal Capital as a leading voice in the firm’s direction. In addition to being a valued member of the Council, Mr. Lugo is a Veteran of the United States Navy.

 

 

Anne Robinson

Board Member

Anne Robinson is an enrolled member of The Morongo Band of Mission Indians and serves as a senior member of The Morongo tribal council. Ms. Robinson is a community leader who has been cited by the Banning, CA Chamber of Commerce as an economic development driver and by the Palm Springs Police Officers Association for her efforts in aiding the families of fallen officers. Anne brings that same spirit and counsel to the board of Tribal Capital and has been a valued voice in the firm’s expansion over the past number of years.

 

 

 

John Muncy

Board Member

John Muncy is serving his second term as an elected tribal council member for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians in Cabazon, Calif., where he helps cultivate new economic development opportunities for the tribe and implements tribal policies that guide the 35,000-acre Morongo Indian Reservation.

A resident of the Morongo Indian Reservation, Mr. Muncy focuses on pursuing new economic development opportunities that will strengthen and diversify Morongo’s business portfolio so as to ensure the tribe thrives and that it continues to have the resources needed to serve its members. Similarly, he also is deeply committed to programs that help preserve and protect Morongo’s cultural traditions for future generations. Mr. Muncy brings this level of insight to Tribal Capital’s board and is critical in the firm’s future development.

 

 

John J. Barry IV, Board Member

Managing Partner


John has nearly 20 years of experience in developing Fixed Income trading operations from the startup phase to profitable, mature business operations. He has previously served as an underwriter and trader of callable structured debt with firms such as Mizuho Securities, ABN-AMRO/LaSalle Nat’l. Bank, Amherst Securities, Sovereign Bank and AK Capital. In 2005, he founded Bonds.com, a FINRA registered broker/dealer and a licensed Alternative Trading System. As Chairman and CEO, he ushered the company through its initial growth phase, developing relationships and adding 2200 accounts in a 2-year span. He has distinguished himself as a Top 20 Global GSE Underwriter in multiple years and continues to thrive as a middle market and wholesale distributor of multiple classes of debt. John's role at the firm consists of co-managing the Fixed Income business lines. He also works with the management team in vetting any New Business Initiatives and developing the firm's growth strategy. Mr. Barry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgetown University.

Alan Mele, Board Member

Managing Partner


Alan has had 25+ years of trading and distribution experience in various roles at both UBS Securities, LLC and PaineWebber prior to their merger. His breadth of experience includes Government and GSE trading, Syndicate Structuring, Fixed Income risk management, sales and marketing, electronic trading development and portfolio structuring. He played a key role in the development of the UBS/PW Fixed Income distribution business as both a risk and trading manager that has ultimately developed into a nearly quarter billion-dollar annual fixture. His efforts have helped UBS achieve multiple Global Top 3 GSE rankings during the last decade. He continues to maintain an industry wide wholesale network that serves as a beneficial collaborative partner. Mr. Mele is responsible for the firm's syndicate operation as well as co-managing Fixed Income. Alan holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Accounting from New York University.
